Color del Rostro Dominicano
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Dominican Republic, celebrated on February 27, the Honorary Consulate of the Dominican Republic in the Slovak Republic, with the support of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Sweden, organized the opening of the exhibition “Color del Rostro Dominicano” by the well-known Dominican artist Jerson Jimenéz. The main theme of the exhibition is the colour and diversity of the culture of the Dominican Republic. The paintings are oil paintings, acrylic paintings, or a combination, all painted on canvas. The author used the entire spectrum of tropical colours.
The opening was attended by several representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, among them the Director of the Department of Asia, the Pacific and Latin America, Mr. Marek Repovský. H.E. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain Lorea Arribalzaga Ceballos and H.E. Ambassador of Brazil Eduardo Ricardo Gradilone Neto, as well as representatives of cultural, business and educational institutions operating in Slovakia.
After the opening words of H.E. Ambassador Lourdes Victoria-Kruse, followed by Honorary consul Dušan Dvorecký and the author of the artwork Jerson Jimenéz. In addition to thirty works, visitors could also enjoy Barceló Dominican rum, Dominican coffee from the Barahona region, and catering with Dominican specialties.
