On July 12, 2022, took place the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Dominican Republic in the Slovak Republic. The consulate headed by Mr. Dušan Dvorecký is under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic for the Kingdom of Sweden, although in the case of consular services and topics related to the Dominican community, due to territorial proximity, it is under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the Republic of Austria.

The opening words of Zuzana Kubičková, the Assistant of Honorary Consul, were followed by the interpretation of the national anthem of the Dominican Republic performed by the Cultural Ambassador for the Dominican Republic, soprano Nathalie Peña Comas, and also the national anthem of the Slovak Republic performed by Branislav Vaculčiak, singer of the artistic ensemble Lúčnica and the external choir of the Slovak National Choir.

Next, H.E. Lourdes Victoria-Kruse, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Sweden and Honorary Consul Dušan Dvorecký dedicated a few words to the guests. After the official speeches, the ceremonial opening of the Honorary Consulate took place with the symbolic cutting of the ribbon. At the end of the program, Mr. Dvorecký gave a ceremonial toast, and the cultural part concluded with a presentation of typical Dominican dances performed by Mr. Carlos Miranda and Mrs. Denisa Halicka.

During the entire evening, guests enjoyed the wonderful tones of the musical group composed of Anabela Mollová, Markus Daniel and Eugen Vizvary. Dinner was a tasting of Barceló rum, Dominican coffee from Café Atrium and cigars produced by Mercedes Rojas, the production of which is supported by Mr. Carlos Carralero Mendieta. Catering was prepared by the exclusive restaurant Da Andrea.
